Once we speak to different younger households about touring, they all the time have the identical concern:

“The flights will probably be too exhausting.”

Surely, this comes up in each dialog. Flights are probably the most intimidating half!

It is sensible. You’re trapping wild kids right into a steel field and hurling them midway the world over. That’s an invite for meltdowns and tears and—provided that you’re fortunate—sleep.

Our youngsters are nice flyers. Flying to Paris to kick off our French highway journey was set to be Ellie’s thirty first flight.

So OF COURSE as we filmed a video to kick off our European journey, Heath begins bragging to the digicam about how nice Ellie is on planes.

Naturally, he jinxed it and we ended up having inarguably the toughest, most sleepless flight throughout the Atlantic.

Rewatching this footage didn’t even start to point out how tough this flight was.

Largely as a result of Heath didn’t movie when he and Ellie have been crammed within the airplane toilet whereas she—how do you say this politely?—misplaced her lunch.

And I didn’t have any free fingers to movie whereas I held Eli in my arms and Ellie screamed that she needed mommy, waking up Eli and doubtless everybody else in our neighborhood.

It was an extended night time.

Most likely the type of night time that makes most dad and mom apprehensive about flying overseas with their little youngsters. The flight is all the time considered one of our massive issues too.

However now that we’re on the opposite aspect and never jet lagged, I’m reminded that one thing fairly superior comes from these sleepless, exhausting, whyyyyyy-did-I-let-her-drink-chocolate-milk-from-Whataburger in a single day flights.

Watch the video to see how one of many looooooongest nights of my life lastly ends. 🥐
